It’s fucking disrespectful to use the Bible as a plate when that is sacred to some people. I don’t fucking give a rat’s ass if you’re not religious, you need to start fucking realising that religion isn’t inherently bad.

There are lots of Christians who are pro-LGBTQ or are LGBTQ themselves and you need to respect them as well and not lump an entire religion into the Westboro Baptist Church.

God I could have written all that better but I’m just so fucking pissed off right now I can’t even argue this.

I don’t really care about this fight one way or the other, but I’m just going to put it out there that it’s an inherently flawed argument to compare someone making a volatile statement about a religion that controls and dictates many aspects of their society to making one about a religion that does not.

A person living in the States (or other presumably Western nation) making an insulting statement with the bible because they’re against the way it’s used as a tool of oppression in their own country’s government is comparable to a person raised in an Islamic nation making a provocative statement about their own religion, not a person in the Western world doing the same about a religion that is an (often misunderstood) minority in their  corner of society.

Prejudice plus power, and all that.
