EXCITING NEWS! This is a show some of my friends from the Ugly Americans crew have been working on putting together and pitching around and it’s finally ready enough to tease the world with trailers! It’s written and directed by Mathias Horhager, one of my co-board-artists on the first season of Ugly Americans who stayed on for the second season after I frittered off to California, and one of the most seriously Awesome dudes that ever was or will be. Like, seriously, this guy sent me an entire crate of Ketchup chips because I was homesick for Canada once.

This is the main trailer, but they also have a site over here, a couple other youtube teasers, and a game!

Not only are all the dudes working on this great people, Solis is a really awesome animation studio that respects its animators and supports internal development in Canada (which you’d know is a pretty Big Freaking Deal if you’ve had any experience with the Canadian animation industry), so it would be really awesome if people could pass this on and help stir up buzz about it!

Fun fact! Dogs lick the mouths of those they consider higher in rank! So if you lick them back, they are not offended, they just don’t see themselves as higher than you and they are confused! The second dog must be a very loyal dog because he or she literally refuses to be licked back haha! I love dogs.

The way his lips twitch into an almost smile when he sees Cas… priceless :)

I really love the way the entire scene was shot. A lot of people have pointed it out, but the way it was built up actually mirrored the date on prom-night sweeping down the stairs, stealing the boy’s breath. Of course it was meant to be funny/ironic, but in a very sweet and adorable way. After all, Cas is still a guy with a stubble and an ever-present frown; the coat and cheap suit do not really look that good on him, and the way he presents himself is awkward at best.

But Dean’s reaction is all joy and adoration, probably because that awkward angel in his ugly over-sized trench coat has come to mean so much to him, and he just realizes he never wants to miss him again.

Of all the scenes that hint at some sort of physical attraction between those two, this is the one I liked best. It was funny, but it didn’t make fun of Dean and Cas.

I guess what I love about Dean/Cas is that they are so much about that sappy old trope of loving/being attracted to someone’s soul. It’s clearly the case with Cas, who basically fell in love with Dean’s soul, but in Purgatory and afterwards, it’s become actually obvious that Dean feels the same: he may not normally do guys (not openly anyways), and though Jimmy certainly wasn’t ugly, Cas just drowns in his clothes and he’s all awkward and complicated, but I think in that scene, Dean realizes that for him, it’s really just about the fact he’s Cas.

For me, this symbolizes such a fundamental human craving we’ll probably all have in one way or another, which is to be loved for who we are, rather than for what we do, what we look like, or what we pretend to be.

Dean/Cas is such a perfect embodiment of this old-fashioned romantic idea that I cannot help but feel a little like tearing up whenever I see Dean look at Cas in that scene.

You know, she’s put so much effort into combating her parents freaky ghost studies, and when she finds out that Danny’s some kind of ghost-hybrid presumably because of some bullshit her parents pulled you’d think she’d be outraged at them, but she’s not. She’s concerned for Danny. She’s worried about what Danny’s dealing with while living with parents who brandish ghost-killer tech at the dinner table.

That’s when you realize. It’s not about the parents. It’s about Danny. It’s always been about Danny. Every time she’s spoken out against her parents bullshit it’s been when she thought Danny was being negatively impacted. She just sort of sits and sulks when they’re embarrassing her, but she speaks up for Danny.

He thinks he’s the dim one in a family of geniuses, but she doesn’t see him that way. She sees something else. I don’t know what, but she doesn’t look at him with condescension. I don’t think she ever could.

Wow, I really need to watch this show.

I LOVE IT.

I saved this doujinshi page a million years ago for the sole reason that it was what made me realize that Yugi’s hair is probably supposed to be a super stylized version of turkey hair and not just some weird graphic shape.

I have no idea what this hair cut is actually called (I’m not trying to make fun of it, I used to have mine cut that way), the only thing I know it as is turkey hair.
